About the Course

Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies. The course focuses on primary care through knowledge development, skill development and scenario practice to ensure participants have the confidence to provide care when an emergency situation arises


Primary Care (CPR) skills you will learn:

  • Scene Assessment, Barrier Use, Primary Assessment, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management, Spinal Injury Management, Conscious and Unconscious Choking Management.

  • Recommended Skills (Included)
        – Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use
        – Emergency Oxygen Use.


Emergency First Response Secondary Care (first aid) covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. Participants focus on first aid through knowledge development, skill development and scenario practice.


Secondary Care Skills you will learn:

  • Injury Assessment

  • Illness Assessment

  • Bandaging

  • Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures


Includes first aid treatment reference for the following emergencies:

Out of water injuries such as Burns, Choking (adult, child, infant), CPR (adult, child, infant), Dislocations and Fractures and many more. In-water injuries such as, Fish Spine Injury, Jellyfish Stings, Temperature Related Injuries and Venomous Bites and Stings and more.

I received my PADI Open Water certification in 2007 and have been hooked ever since. I received my PADI Instructor rating in 2020 and am looking forward to sharing and teaching scuba to others who seek new adventures. I am certified to teach PADI Open Water courses, Emergency First Responders as well as some other PADI specialty courses.

Being in the water is just a great place to be. Other than my bed, it is my happy place.
