About the Course

Description

Knowing when and how to use emergency oxygen is a useful skill to have as a diver. It means you’re ready to help other divers should it be needed. Becoming certified as a PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider helps you become confident knowing that you will be able to recognize scuba diving illnesses and be able to treat it with emergency oxygen.


There are no prerequisites required for this course, just the motivation want to learn.  Although this course is geared toward diving emergencies, it’s open to anyone who wants to learn how to help others during any emergency.


What you will learn

You’ll learn about scuba diving injuries divers can have, the emergency oxygen equipment and safety considerations when using oxygen.

Assembling and disassembling emergency oxygen equipment.

Using a non-rebreather mask and a demand inhalator valve on a breathing diver.

Using a pocket mask on a nonbreathing diver.

We will have an emergency oxygen unit available to use for training.

I received my PADI Open Water certification in 2007 and have been hooked ever since. I received my PADI Instructor rating in 2020 and am looking forward to sharing and teaching scuba to others who seek new adventures. I am certified to teach PADI Open Water courses, Emergency First Responders as well as some other PADI specialty courses.

Being in the water is just a great place to be. Other than my bed, it is my happy place.
